Growing food. Growing hope. Serving God’s people. The Mel Smith Project is deeply rooted in service, compassion, and community restoration. One of our most heartfelt ministries is the Community Garden & Soup Kitchen, created to serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness or food insecurity in Wynne, Arkansas.

Led by Pastor Mel Smith Sr. and Mrs. Stella Smith

This initiative blends two God-given gifts: Mel’s lifelong passion for gardening and innovation, and Stella’s calling to cook, nourish, and care for others. Together, they are building a ministry that feeds both the body and the spirit.

Pastor Mel Smith Sr.: A lifetime of growing

Pastor Smith has been gardening his entire life. He has a true green thumb, able to turn even the toughest soil into thriving produce. His love for gardening is more than a hobby — it’s a ministry. Mel has even invented and patented his own lawn equipment, including the Weed Trimme.
